Who is it for?
Young people aged 16 – 25 years old. You don’t need any prior qualifications, skills or experience. Just need a positive “want to do/can do” attitude. You need to be available for 10 weeks to take part in all the workshops and paid work.
What are the dates for the Scheme?
We will have 3 groups running for 10 weeks in total. This will comprise of a 3 hour group workshop in the afternoon once a week for 5 weeks. Participants will gain knowledge on the different aspects of the world of work in a creative and fun environment.
The work opportunity is for 4 weeks for 4 hours a day totalling 16 hours per week.
The final group will start from October 2023.
Salary & expenses
Participants will be paid to undertake the 4 weeks work placement at National Minimum Wage and can also get £50 for expenses such as travel, clothing, lunch and other training needs.
Number of participants
This scheme will have 15 people per group with a total of 45 young people in the 3 groups.

Due to high demands, we held our second induction session for the Hatch Youth Employment Scheme attended by 25 young people. We are running this employability programme in partnership with UK Youth and KFC for youths aged 16-25 to get onto the career ladder. Over the next 6 months, young people will take part in a series of pre-employment workshops before entering the workplace for a 4-weeks paid work placement.

Our first induction programme was held yesterday to introduce the Hatch Youth Employment scheme which we are delivering in partnership with UK Youth and KFC. Our first batch of young people were selected from 70 applicants. We look forward to working with them over the coming weeks. Prior to their paid work placement, they will take part in five pre employment workshops to better understand the world of work and gain the skills necessary to be successful at work.
Hatch is an employability programme for young people aged between 16 - 25 to develop their skills needed to secure and hold down a job. Benefits include:
