Introduction to Voluntary Sector Collaborations

This event will take place on Tuesday 18th April, 10.30am - 12.30pm via zoom.

VAL and the Open University are jointly organising this virtual workshop as an introduction to collaborations in the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector. The session is intended to introduce a wider audience to the concept and practice of collaboration, building on VAL’s ongoing work supporting the voluntary sector, including experiences of collaboration both between voluntary sector organisations themselves and between those organisations and partners from other sectors.

All-Party Parliamentary Group on Charities and Volunteering

This event will take place on Wednesday 19th April, 2.00 - 3.15pm via zoom.

This meeting is an opportunity to hear from charity regulators about their plans for the year ahead, and for you to put your questions to them.

You'll be hearing from:

  • the Charity Commission, which oversees charities in England and Wales

  • the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)

  • the Fundraising Regulator, which oversees charity fundraising in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

£100m to support charities


The Spring Budget was announced and support for the sector showed the power of our collective voice. You’ve been helping to influence greater help and recognition from the government. We are delighted the Chancellor recognised the vital role that charities play in supporting communities. He announced £100m to support charities with service delivery and energy efficiency.

Volunteers’ Week is a UK wide campaign that takes place from 1-7 June every year to thank volunteers and celebrate volunteering efforts.
