Editorial Manager - Islamic Relief

Location: Birmingham or London

 

The Editorial Manager is responsible for leading editorial colleagues in creating, shaping and developing compelling publications and multiplatform editorial content to serve the needs of the Islamic Relief family and continue telling the story of the organisation’s great work around the globe in inspiring ways.

 

 

The role exercises primary responsibility for planning, developing and delivering compelling editorials for the IRW website; and providing leadership to ensure the highest possible quality and consistency of written material for the Islamic Relief brand, meeting rigorous international, sector-relevant and ethical standards.

 

 

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • A degree or equivalent in English, media/journalism or a related/relevant subject is essential

  • Significant experience of leading creative teams to achieve within a fast-paced, challenging environment

  • Experience of envisioning, managing and producing editorial content in a large, complex organisation, including experience of developing editorial plans for multiple platforms

  • Significant experience of managing multiple projects on tight and changeable schedules

  • Strong track record in writing for a variety of audiences, creating compelling editorial messages, and writing for brand-building and campaigns

  • Experience of web-related oversight, day-to-day management and content creation

  • Experience of advising senior leadership on editorial strategy and tactics

  • Experience in collaborating and developing partnerships across departments

  • Proven creative project management skills, with experience of multiple projects on tight and changeable schedules

  • Experience of balancing editorial aspirations with limited financial resources is desirable

  • Excellent people management, interpersonal, and decision-making skills

  • Exceptional skills in writing, editing and proof-reading with an excellent command of English and a strong eye for detail

Office Administrator – Midlands PR Team ummah welfare trust

UWT requires a hardworking and reliable Office Administrator for the PR & Fundraising within the Midlands Area that is fully supportive of the charity’s aims.

The successful candidate will deliver the Midlands PR & Fundraising Team’s Office & administrative duties and support the team to raise awareness about UWT’s campaigns and raise funds for the charity.

Overall responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver the finance, HR and general office administrative duties for the Midlands PR & Fundraising department.

Social Media Coordinator – Islamic Relief

Location: London

Our IRUK Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Social Media Coordinator’ to be based from its Waterloo Office, London. The postholder will be joining our established and award-winning Marketing Division and is responsible for supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the organisation’s organic social media strategy.

 

The postholder will also effectively manage and maintain all IRUK social media output ensuring it complies with Islamic Relief policies and standards, provide social media expertise to the organisation, and work alongside the social media team to deliver high profile and impactful social media campaigns that drive action, engagement and raise funds.

 

Develop, deliver and maintain effective tools that enable the social media team to deliver a sector leading social media experience and provide strategic and operational support to the Digital Engagement Manager, deputising in their absence.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Proven ability and experience in supporting the delivery of social media strategies

  • Extensive experience in developing engaging channel specific creative content for various social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok

  • Extensive experience of delivering organic social media campaigns

  • Experience in live video production, and utilising live video to deliver engagement and communicate interesting and/or urgent messages to supporters and potential supporters

  • Experience in raising funds through social media channels

  • Direct experience of working in the voluntary sector in a communications-related role, or an appreciation of the values and culture of the voluntary sector and its communications/marketing needs

  • Experience of working in the development sector, with some knowledge of Islamic humanitarian values

  • Excellent all-round written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of industry software and tools including social media management and social media listening tools (specific knowledge of Sprout Social would be advantageous)
