Humanitarian Programmes Manager – Muslim Aid

The post holder to have overall management responsibility and accountability of the Humanitarian Programmes work streams through the continual development and management of humanitarian capacity and surge resources ensuring high quality programme delivery to communities affected by disasters. This includes responding to slow and rapid onset emergencies and supporting communities to become resilient to future shocks.

The role will also contribute to the development of the global humanitarian programme strategy whilst providing operational management assistance, funding and programmatic support to the humanitarian team at country level and partners. The Humanitarian Programmes Manager (HPM) will work in close coordination with the Country Management, Partnership and Institutional Funding team and is expected further strengthen existing MA emergency intervention strategy and alert system.

The postholder will be required to travel at short notice.

Chief Operating Officer – Ummah Welfare Trust

Location - Bolton

The COO role is a key member of the Ummah Welfare Trust senior management team, reporting to the CEO. The post holder will be UWT’s second-in-command and be responsible for optimising the charities operational planning, and day-to-day operational excellence. With a team including Customer Services, Projects, Public Relations, Commercial, Finance, IT, compliance and HR, the role requires an experienced and effective leader, with outstanding ability to lead across broad operational spheres with financial discipline. The overarching purpose of the COO position is to work with the CEO to implement the financial and operational strategy of UWT, thereby enabling the charity to deliver its charitable objectives and achieve sustainable growth.

Some overall responsibilities,

• Support the CEO and oversee the senior management team to implement the charity’s strategic and business plan.

• Responsible for annual financial planning, budget setting, financial and performance reporting;

• Accountable for the effective performance of the Charity’s programmes and services, through: - Operational planning: Working with the CEO, Finance Director and departmental managers to set the annual departmental operational objectives, KPIs and budgets; - Monitoring and managing performance of the organisation’s departmental delivery/operations, budgets and service managers.

UK & International Assistant Management Accountant – Muslim Aid

Location – United Kingdom

This role is based in the UK and open to individuals with unrestricted right to live and work in the UK. At this stage we are unable to offer sponsorship opportunities and are unable to progress applications which require sponsorship. Therefore, you must currently hold an unrestricted right to work in the UK. The key purpose of this role is to support the UK & International Management Accountant to ensure accurate reporting of all UK & International financial information with systems, processes and controls operating effectively. 

About the Role:

 

  • Day to day management of accounts payable and receivable

  • Management of UK & International Payments

  • Responsible for UK month-end process including accrual, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations and assisting production of UK & International Management Accounts with variance analysis

  • Supporting production of Statutory Global year end accounts

  • Assist in maintenance of financial control, processes, and system

  • Finance lead on interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers and providing training to all new budget holders
