Holiday Activity Scheme

Community Foundation has completed yet another successful winter scheme. The scheme ran over 2 weeks from  Mon 23rd December 2024 for boys and girls aged 5-16 in Lozells and Small Heath.  The scheme offered fun-filled sessions tailored to different age groups. Morning sessions (9:00 am–12:45 pm) were designed for children aged 5-9, while the afternoon sessions (1:15 pm–5:00 pm) engaged those aged 10-16.

Children enjoyed a variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and energisers. One of the standout moments was the fruit salad-making activity, where children prepared their own fruit salads while learning about nutrition and healthy eating. In addition to daily physical activities we also had classroom based activities included painting, drawing, board games, origami, and more, fostering creativity and teamwork.

The scheme concluded with a trip to London’s Natural History Museum, followed by sightseeing  tour at Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street Winter Lights.  Children also got to visit Hamleys Toy Store. The journey itself was lively, featuring a mini talent show on the 3 hour coach journey, where children and even parents showcased their skills speaking and singing skills.

We’re proud to have created a space where children could learn, play, and build lasting memories with their friends and peers.
