FAQs:

1. Do we have to pay rent or utilities?
Most spaces are provided rent-free, though some utility or service costs (e.g. electricity, internet) may need to be covered by you, depending on the property.

2. How long can we stay in the space?
It depends on the landlord's availability and your needs. Many groups stay for 3 to 12 months, but some spaces may only be available short term with a 28-day notice to vacate.

3. Can we use the space for fundraising or retail?
Yes, as long as your activity supports a charitable or community purpose. Retail use (e.g., pop-up shops) is welcomed if aligned with your mission.

4. Do we need insurance or legal documents?
Yes, you’ll need Public Liability Insurance, and we help you with any risk assessments, H&S compliance, and agreements to get you set up smoothly.

5. What if we’re not a registered charity?
That’s okay. We also accept CICs, faith groups, volunteer-led projects, and community organisations with charitable aims, even if not formally registered.
Leila Hussain, Community Group Lead
We were running programs from borrowed venues. Now we have a stable, accessible place to operate, without the stress of rent
Marcus Greene, Volunteer Coordinator
Having a real location made us more visible and professional. We used the space for training sessions, drop-ins, and admin. The support we received was amazing.
Priya Singh, Programme Manager
As a small CIC, finding affordable space is tough. Manzil matched us with a landlord willing to support our mission. The unit was ideal for our 3-month food hub.
