ESOL English
We will be reprising our ESOL lessons this September and are eager to welcome you to our learning community!
There will be 3 levels of English to choose from:
ESOL Beginners English (Pre-entry) - 9 Weeks
ESOL Advanced Beginners (A1) - 12 Weeks
ESOL Intermediate English (B1) - 16 weeks
Each class takes place once a week at the Community Foundation offices and classes will be structured as follows:
1. Beginners Level (Pre-Entry):
Group 1:
DURATION: 9 weeks (8 weeks lessons + 1 week assessment)
START DATE: Thursday 10th September 1.00pm - 2.30pm
AFTER THAT: Every Thursday 1.00pm - 2.30pm
Group 2:
DURATION: 9 weeks
START DATE: Tuesday 15th September 10.00am - 11.30am
AFTER THAT: Every Tuesday 10.00am - 11.30am

These weekly English classes are designed for individuals with very little or no English and are fun, engaging, and interactive, including:
Roleplay
Interactive activities and games
Reading, writing and speaking
2. Advanced Beginners (A1):
DURATION: 12 weeks (11 weeks lessons + 1 week assessment)
START DATE: Tuesday 15th September 1.00pm - 2.30pm
AFTER THAT: Every Tuesday 1.00pm - 2.30pm
These weekly English classes are designed for individuals with limited spoken English and are fun, engaging, and interactive, including:
Roleplay
Interactive activities and games
Reading, writing and speaking
3. Intermediate English (B1):
DURATION: 17 weeks (16 weeks lessons + 1 week assessment)
START DATE: Thursday 10th September 10.00am - 12.00pm
AFTER THAT: Every Thursday 10.00am - 12.00pm
These weekly classes are designed for individuals who are already able to hold a basic conversation in English but would like to improve their English and aim towards a B1 qualification. The focus is on speaking and understanding with greater accuracy and widening vocabulary and knowledge of language.
Activities include:
· Role play
· Interactive activities
· Discussion and debate
· Pair work
· More advanced reading and writing

Is there a fee for the course?
No, the course is completely free.
Where do the classes take place?
Classes take place in Birmingham city centre on Broad Street.
Is there an eligibility criteria?
There is no formal eligibility criteria. However, we do make learners aware that the class teaches basic English.
Do the classes help with immigration and citizenship requirements?
No, our classes cannot be used to meet immigration and citizenship requirements as our course is not accredited. However, classes are beneficial in improving your English.
Are online classes available?
No, we currently only deliver face-to face classes.
